Re: [ATM] Dental Stone Tile Tool
I do believe that those are ceramic tiles r4ather than porcelean
tiles. You need the floor tiles which are tough all the way
througgh rather than the wall tiles that are coated soft plaster
tiles which will not stand up to the grit on the floor.
The Dixie cup idea is a nice one for larger tools but you did go
a bit overboard in making sure tht they didn't move about but
that is your choice.
Next time, don't bother making channels as they really are
unnedded The dental stone is soft enough that the grit quickly
erodes theat stuff away as needed. I usually don't fill in any
bubbles in the stone but do sometimes do find grit falling out of
them on some tools so it is best to go over the grinding surface
with fresh dental stone and fill in those holes.
If you get tired of using the tiles, I've also used double
thickness plate glass, or thicker< instead. It's nice when you
have a nice tile saw to cut up glass or have somebody that knows
how to make small pieces with a glass cutter quickly.
I don't know how fast you started using the tool but I find that
they are usually hard enough to use after about a half hour after
mixing the stone up. After an hour, the stone is so hard that it
is basically at about half strength and will take a lot of effort
to break. I've been using the yellow stone and don't know if the
green stone is any different other than the color.
