One thing not mentioned by the others is that you want to put the
metal in a channel to keep it from moving about.   This will trap
the metal from sliding about and a screw at each end should
provide a good reference to hold the metal in place.  Personally,
I'd probably use some of the "yellow snot" type high tack
adhesives like the lineoleum adhesive that I just used to lay  a
lineoeum tile flowr with.
