[ATM] pressing and glueing a wooden disk

While we are talking wood and glue...

In trying out Mel's strategy of using a wooden polishing tool (in
this case, it is also oversized), I began work this weekend on a
tool. Thick plywood (~19 mm or 3/4 inch) could not be found locally,
so I came up with something similar using 21 x 145 mm wooden
boards (conifer softwood of of some kind). My mirrors are 310-315 mm
diameter, so I laid 3 boards side-by side and cut circles. I made
3 sets of 3 circles, which used up a bit less than one standard
3600 mm length of this type of wood. Each successive layer is
rotated 60 degrees, pics here:

I plan to add some clamps and leave pressed this way this week and
then glue it together next weekend (epoxy???) and maybe put in screws.
One problem with the wood here is that it tends to curl up along the
plane of the grain and otherwise warp. I am curious if someone here
has experience with glueing/pressing such things? How best to keep
this rigid and last many years without warping, etc? I was
thinking to add fiberglass or some such, but wonder what others have
done.

As a last point, please keep in mind that some of us are not in
USA and might not recognize a specific brand name, so it is
sometimes helpful to specify common names for active ingredients.
