Re: [ATM] Starlight Optical MakNewt page

FWIW, One thing that I do with my data is spread it around on
many of my computers. I occasionally go yard saling and
sometimes find a used computer for a few dollars.. It is amazing
that people basically throw those things away after getting a new
one. The speed of the computer may not be all that fast but it
does have a disk drive in it that can be used for data storage.
Just hook the drive up in your present computer and move the data
to it and then stor it away. Often you find a bad computer that
still has a good drive in it and there you get to have a second
drive in your newer faster system. You don't need huge drives
that are available as any drive over abou tfive hundred megabyte
will store more data than you have on your system unless you're
doing video stuff.. I even have a parallel port drive from some
time ago and it will handle two gigabytes of data without
problems. I keep my OS and other downloaded files as well as
programs that I used often (read optics stuff_ and the designs
thata I've worked on. It may be sl0w to use the port drive but
it does allow me to quickly load up a computer withg all that I
consider necessary and do it in one quick operation that I can
walk away from and let proceed.
Keeping multiple copies of your data on different drivees will
keep you from suffering heavily in the event of a di8sk crash.
