Re: [ATM] Stubborn TDE
It is a suggestion given as food for thought. You may have not considered
that the edge is not the outer limit of where you can put accented pressure.
It could just as well be put outside the edge, or right on the edge. It can
sometimes be useful to do so.
But how to make the edge really, really, good.... I will let you know how I
do it... when I do it.
I will say that the best edges I have made generally were not made by a
"stroke". They happened when I got a juggling act right. Juggle pitch
properties, channels, temperature, humidity, pressing, feeling the contact,
stroke speed, slurry density and quantity. When I get it right the edge
magically gets better. Pretty much whatever stroke. It happens more when I
have a good sphere.
Actually I thought your edge was pretty good in the first picture. Did you
have to work for that sphere or was it the natural result of your stroke? If
it was natural it would be a good idea to do more of that and concentrate on
smooth and steady stroke while maintaining the sphere. Should be good for
the edge.

Jerry suggested I try doing accented pressure closer to the edge, since the
TDE is narrow.
But I think I got about as close to the edge as I can - about 1 mm. I
applied pressure with
my thumb at the very edge of the tool. I tried various narrow and wide W
strokes with
this type of accented pressure, to no avail. I wonder, should I try a
straight forward
and backward stroke (rather than a W) when I apply accented pressure, with
this narrow
of a TDE?
Thanks for all your feedback.
David
