If the scratches were smaller I would suggest ignoring them, the secondary
mirror vanes will cause diffraction effects that will appear for all intents
and purposes as huge scratches anyway, but with a 6" mirror you WANT it as
good as it can be.

Ugghhhhh but 1/20 wave and smooth surface. It would kill me to put lap to
glass with a surface like that. Has it been 100% established that it is into
the glass and not just a coating scratch? I understand how thin the molecule
thick coating is but just be sure it is indeed glass scratches. BTW, how
many are there and are they all identical?
