In my arraignment focusing and optical alignment (collimation) are separate
and independent mechanisms. Focusing does not affect alignment and alignment
(collimation) does not affect focusing. Alignment is by tip-tilt of the
mirror-focuser assembly. There are no springs, spherical bearings, or ball
bearings used with this collimation arraignment. Also positive lock down
after collimation is a separate and independent mechanism.
