Re: [ATM] undercorrecting?

Group,

Nils and others brought up a point that I neglected to comment about in my
previous post.

Because of the high airflow that I use in the observatory and over the
primary mirror, I have never had dew formation on anything on the
telescope. When I have the more powerful fan at the top setting I don't
get dew on anything inside of the observatory, including the inner dome
walls. Yet the outside of the dome, the grass and anything else outside
the dome are sopping wet.

The airflow is not strong enough to vibrate the system.

Soooo, throw high amounts of air at the optics and worry less. If you have
enough air flow, the biggest issues one should be thinking about and
dealing with go away. Again, quality optics and star collimated optics
have to be a part of that equation. You can't get the most out of a system
without having all three. There are other issues that are important, like
the structure, but that's not what we are discussing.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Shane Santi - President
