Re: [ATM] ATM Suppliers, etc..
S*** happens! The guy admitted the error to me after reading the
order. He also was starting to get tired of the questions that
the other guy was asking and the agonizing over the decisions
that was being done and was glad that the guy had actually placed
an oder.. I let him know that this was the way the guy was. My
total conversation with the guy at GlassFab was about 10 minutes,
mostly just talking.
FWIW, the total order was on the order of $800.
It also took a bit of talking to the guy not to return the second
set of glass due to machining intolerances. The two pieces of
glass were about 0.050" different in diameter (easily remedied
with a bit of edge grinding to match the two peices) and one
piece was about 4 thou thicker than the match to the other piece
and there was 3.5 thou of wedge on one piece and 3 thou on the
other piece, again causing a bit of moaning and gnashing of the
teeth. All this is a problem for the perfectionist who just
spent a lot of money for a few little pieces of glass but isn't
for the person that realizes that he's got the glass and it's big
enough to carve out what he needs from the blanks.
One thing that was really nice was that the glass was ready for
25 micron grinding when it arrived.
