RE: [ATM] Another Astigmatism question, but at the sphere stage
Please forgive me if I repeat what others have said earlier, but this thread
has become too long to read every post. It seems to me that multiple
individuals on this list have in the past demonstrated that both theoretical
arguments and practical experience show that while astigmatism may be
detectable via the Foucault test, it is not easily quantifiable,
particularly when the magnitude is small (i.e. RMS error < 0.1 waves or
thereabouts).
Is there anyone paying attention to this conversation that would dispute
this conclusion, and if yes, then could you concisely summarize your
arguments & evidence?
