If you're looking for a low power scope then the F5 is a diable
design.  The eye won't see the color error that you'll come up
with.
The finder scopes are a good example of this as they are short FL
lenses of common glasses and they work very well at their low
power as do bincoulars do.  What we're all pointing to is that
you just aren't going to be getting diffraction limited
performance out of the lens.
