RE: [ATM] F5 Achromat Design Help

Hi,

Thank you Ricards, Thomas, Bob and other for this discussion. I did make an 190mm F12 Achromat, but its just to long (2 meters) a scope to be pratical in my case. I've been thinkering on how to reduce the focal ratio to make it more managable. 

I saw an add for an 8" F6 scope and that started me wondering about turning my refractor into a wide-field refractor, to be used with low magnification. It would probably out perform a newt in wide coma free field.

Guys, what about using an abnormal dispersion liquid between the BK7 and F2 elements? It would sure reduce the chromatic aberation and would be an aceptable alternative that my pocket could wistand. Any comments!!

I do not expect an apo! Just a decent scope.
