Re: [ATM] painting plywood

With CD plywood it really doesn't matter what you paint it with,
it will still look like CD ply. Exterior latex paint will do
fine and will probably do the best for hiding the surface of the
plywood.
With CD plywood, I'd gusset all of the joints with diagonally cut
pine or fir. This will rigidize the joints a lot.
Personally, I'd prefer to use clear pine boards to do the work
rather than plywood at that price range. 3" or 4" wide boards
end glued can be made to good sized panels and won't warp. This
method is often used in making tabletops when chipboard or
flakeboard isn't used.
Another is to use panelling like doors are sometimes made. The
panels can be 1/8" ply which is a lot cheaper than thicker
plywood.
It wouls be better to use AB or even AC plywood rather than CD
due to the higher quality of the joints that would be possible
with those higher grades. If you just want to bang something
together rapidly and don't care about lifetime, use the CD,
especially if you already have it.
FWIW, I like playing with wood and love to see a quality job on
any woodworking.
