RE: [ATM] F5 Achromat Design Help
Alfredo,
You didn't mention what/which glass types you have.
Clear skies, Thomas.

Subject: [ATM] F5 Achromat Design Help
Hi,
Does any of the refractor gurus out there have a good design for a F5 or
F6 achromat (120mm diameter). I used richard's GSum program to design
one and got a design were the spot diagram is about three times the airy
disk (I asume tjhis is great at F5)! But since I do not have the
experience of evaluating lens designs I would rather get a design from
someone more experienced in the matter. My second question is how thin
can the negative lens center thickness be for a 120mm achromat. The
reason being that the flint disk I have is only 14mm thick! I am worried
that 6mm might be too thin and make the lens warp while grinding and
polishing.
Thanks,
Alfredo
