[ATM] 6" F/15 Trischiefspiegler- Alive, need mount help...
OK, OK f/14.84...
Got the mirrors in the tube (case) tonight and rough aligned. No mount, just sitting on the floor of the garage pointing at the northern sky with a 25mm eyepiece taped in place (still have to make an adaptor for the draw tube to eyepiece and the mounting plates for the side of the case to the fork.
Early results look real good. Just a little astigmatism (at ~45 degrees), seems really close. It's alive...
I plan to use a recycled Edmonds fork mount. It's pretty straight forward but is missing a few parts. I have the 3 legs with draw wires and ring(draw wire center connection), base with and fork assembly. I think I'm missing a ring that holds the legs together under the base and any other parts that attach the legs to the fork base. Can anyone help?
I'm sure the mount is iffy, but the scope is intended as a "star party scope" so should be OK. I will probably make up a set of shafts so I can mount the scope in the observatory for more interesting work.
