[ATM] Contaminated Cerium Oxide
I have finished fine grinding of my 6-inch f10 mirror, # 1000 is the last Grit I have available here. I purchased yellowish white powder from Lahore about which the vendor assured me that it was Cerium Oxide. while making a pitch lap I discoverd that this powder had some very coarse grains in it. I have tried to refine this by water suspension method, but the results are not good. It has put some nice scratches on my fine ground mirror, so moving back to #600 grit to treat these scratches. Now I am in doubt whether this powder is Cerium Oxide or some thing else. The quantity which I have refined seems to have particle size even greater than that of #1000 grit. I will try to find some Red Rouge from ???
Is it ok to build a Truss Tube Dob for my 6-inch f10 mirror?
