  When I finish a grit I scrub out the channels inthe tile tool with a toothbrush and then let te tool dry.
I then use a spray can of laquer and give the tool a quick spray.  The laquer tends to "imprison" any 
grains of grit still left in the channels.  Any laquer on the tile surfaces quickly wears off once you start
grinding again.    That's what I do.  It seems to work for me, or at least it makes me feel better!
