Not any big advantage I know of, but a lot of atms, and pros, have made
mirrors and lenses with glass tools over the years.  It isn't so
different from using a tile tool.  A decade or so ago, it was considered
somewhat experimental and unusual to use a tile tool.  As long as you
have them, why not save a little work and expense and go head and use
them?  Now if you didn't have them, and had to choose between buying
pregenerated tools to match your blanks and using tile, I would
certainly say use tile.
