Considering the advances that have been done on the digital cameras, it
won't be long before the short exposure photos will be able to be done at
the prime focus without a secondary and not make all that heat that the
cooled CCD cameras presently do.
I'll also note that a good heat pipe will tend to reduce the heating
problems of the cooled CCD camera and be able to dump the heat to the
outside of the scope, even into a chilled heat dump, making the whole CCD
camera actually cooler than the air around it.
