Hi Rich:

There's both a "too narrow" and a "too wide" but I use
50 microns (.002") by experimentation and find it
recommended elsewhere. I have some brass shim stock
that thickness.  For common everyday items:  Reynolds
standard aluminum wrap measures exactly .001" by my
micrometer so fold it over and you're set.
