Re: [ATM] Trischiefspiegler in 6" or 8"
The only ones I've looked through were at the Table Mt. Star Party 8 years
ago. Seems like they were 4.25 and 6" (beel too long). The larger, 6" or
8", was most impressive. It and very large refractor (John Deer or Jolly
Green Giant, ?) were the two best views of Jupiter I've had.
Now to get myself in trouble. If it doesn't out perform the f/6 Newt, on
planetary targets, there really isn't much reason to make one... :-).
Newts are hard to beat, and an optimized f/10 may even be close but would be
hard to use in my little observatory.
With all the optics/ATM books I have, none talk much about the TCT, so
scaling is a bit blind but do-able.
Thx,
Greg
