I went digging in the ATM archives, and found this post dated Friday,10 Oct
1997 from Jean Marc BECKER:

"I met Texereau, once. I could speak a few minutes with him. It was 30 years
ago (1967) at an SAF meeting.
He died some five years ago.(1992)His principal specificity was his extreme
rigor in analysis of the whole chain of optical instruments.
He was sparing with words."

It would be great to hear more stories about "Tex"...
