[ATM] Testing 10 inch mirror questions
Hello all. I've been very slowly over the last couple of years working on a
10.25 inch plate glass (salvaged port hole) mirror.
I have posted a few questions over the last couple of years and now have more
questions.
I have polished it out and have started parabolizing it. I have reached some
level of paraboloid and have been checking it with the texereau program under
Linux.
Right now using 2 sets of readings on 2 diameters the program reports 1/7
wave with the Milles-Lacroix profile just clipping out in two zones.
My question is can I post any information, pictures of ronchi tests, pictures
of the foucult shadows etc that some of you kind souls could look at and tell
me if my measuring technique and the results seem reasonable?
Also I've been using a w parabolizing stroke I was shown a Stellafane this
year. What's the best way to work specific zones with a full size lap.
I think with this being my first mirror and it also being plate glass I might
be tempted to stop at 1/7 wave or so instead of trying to push the surface
further. Any advice? I would like to have this in some sort of scope to take
it to stellafane next year. Not so much to enter in competition but just to
use.
Looking forward to any answers....
Thanks loads..
Wayne Hilliard..
