[ATM] Newt V. Bartel

I am in the process of starting my second ATM project. The proposed specs
are:

8" f/7
1" Secondary
10" ID Sonotube
1.45" height, 2" focuser

When I put the necessary data into Newt, everything looks great, no
vingnetting or undersized diagonal, etc. However, when I use Mel Bartels
online diagonal sizing app, it looks like a friggin' disaster, with
unacceptable light loss (more than 30%) occuring just .3" off-axis.

My plan for the scope is primarily as a planetary, lunar scope. I would also
like to be able to through in a 41mm Panoptic and enjoy a nice 2 degree FOV
to sweep the Milky Way with too. I plan to mount it on an Atlas or G8 eq
mount for tracking. However, I would also like the ability to do some CCD
work with it in the future. Are these goals to far apart in their
requirements for the design proposed?
