Re: [ATM] virus from list

I took it for granted that e-mail even if opened can not
take a virus along. The only way is if e-mail has attachment
and attachment is opened. This was reason behind why some
do not accept attachments unless from well known sources.
Now what Jerry said is different. Even e-mail itself can be virulent.
Most antiviral programs claim that in and outgoing mail is checked for
viruses. I doubt that virus with such an potency as described by Jerry
will be unnoticed by major companies like Norton. Hopefully there is
some other explanation for .dll files generation in his computer.
If Jerry has got them from the list than most of list members should have
the same problem, I guess.
I would like to check my computer for this .dll symptom. Jerry please
explain how do you find those files, where are they located, and how do you
know they are not legitimate ones.
I hope our list moderators have better sources of information about these things
and will inform us accordingly.
Vladimir.
