I hope I'm wrong. But I think that you might have to wait 996 years to start
the millennium scope.

The 21st century, and I would guess the new millennium started 1/1/2001. If
I'm not mistaken it started first west of the dateline.

PS ... of course the trick is to finish a scope in the same millennium in
which it is started.

genuine Mellenium telescope. The first scope started this centuary, on the
morning 1/1/2000 just east if the date line.....And I'm still working on
it... If I hurry I might finish by the turn of the next centuary.
