When you say scratches, you mean the ones that are a little row of pits or
are you saying the little ones that look like there was a plow cutting a
nice groove in the glass?  The first is subjective as to whether to go back
to grinding while the second is usually just a bit more polishing, hoping
that no more show up.  If that happens, clean the lap and try again.
