Hello ATM list

Does any one know about the Newport Glass Works Inc?  They have an 8" refractor lens kit that includes the tool for roughly $400.  Does this sound like a reasonable price?  I got an elliptical flat secondary mirror (3.1" minor axis) from them for my 20" project for about $149.  It's pyrex.  I heard one person in the past say that they weren't satisfied with Newport, but I'm pretty satisfied.  Anybody else?

PS.  I heard that making a lens for a refractor is a more difficult task than making a mirror.  Is this true?  I thought that I read you don't have to make a lens as accurate because the light isn't reflected (at least not as much) and therefore doesn't travel twice the distance.  Is that right?  I've got a dial indicator and that'll help too.
