[ATM] Lens grinding for a digicam.

Hello all.

I have a few questions concerning making a lens/lens system for a camera.
It is slightly off topic but needs some optical expertise.

I want to 'make' a telephoto lens (teleconverter/tele-extender or whatever
its called.)
(my canon A70 has an adapter mount) So I have a few questions.


What lens configuration do I need? (eg to double or triple the current focal
length)?
Is there any PC software that will calculate lens parameters for me?
(I am prepared to grind my own lenses)
Also I won't have any problem in fabricating the mechanical bits  - its just
the optical side i'm unsure of.

Any help, ideas or suggestions much appreciated.
