I can not think of any reason why it would be wrong
to do that, it would further inhance the
baffling,(most dont think that end of tube is an
important place to baffle)
The increased bottom end will raise the eyepiece
further off the ground and also lower the bearing
position which will raise it even higher for more
comfortable viewing, but keep this in mind cause it
depends how high you wish to go with it, the only
concern will be with access to the cell for adjustment
but it sound like you should have no problem.
Tube current should not be an issue, they are mostly
caused by primary not being at proper temp.
