Re: [ATM] slow polishiing



I often check the quality of a polish at the Foucault tester as it is easy
to see in the monitor the ring of fuzziness of the unpolished areas that
won't change the shadowing as you cover the light return.
Another thing I often do is use the finder LED (much brighter) and let the
return near the KE where the camera is and you will see the light from the
diffraction of the pits returning to the camera or eye where a polished area
will be dark.
That you have a nice smooth shadow all over the mirror in both of the images
shows that the polish is at the least evenly done.  It doesn't indicate
whether there are still pits on the surface but does indicate that there is
a generally even finish to the surface.
