Interesting.  Maybe a judicious amount of edge non-support would help newbie 
mirror-makers avoid rolled edges.

FWIW I noticed my rolled edge problems disappeared when I started using 1/4" 
bubble wrap for mirror support - this leaves the mirror very flexible across 
the diameter, including the edge.  Previously I had used more rigid supports 
like carpet and wet newspaper.  Those less flexible support materials make 
the tool bear down on the mirror's edge more than on the inner zones.
