Hi-
Hey- I don't think he meant to leave the wire mesh on the lap.
Unless scraps of mesh were left behind, which doesn't seem likely.
Anyway stuff that gets buried in a lap that is denser than pitch
doesn't seem to work its way to the surface. Don't give up too
soon on the idea. I've used "hardware cloth" which is a metal mesh.
No scratches. Of course I took it off after pressing the pattern :>)
