Re: ATM Tile tool questions

Thanks Russ,

I had already used the dremmel tool and the round bit before I read your message. I think I made the grooves a little too deep, and made the grooves about 2/3 the thickness of the tile. Should I make more dental stone and pour over the top of the tiles and start over with shallow groove?
Also, when drawing the tiles to diameter, I focused on ensuring the the tiles were off-set, but over looked the edge. I have two tiles the are a bit small, about 1/4 inch on the ends and curve the length of the tile to point. I'm afraid these will break off with the slightest pressure, and if they do, what will happen result? New tool? This tool is basically to form the siggatta. I plan to make another once I form the curve I want.

Thank you,

Arthur

Art, Relax, the dental stone will wear as the tiles do. Make sure the
edges of the tiles are not too
sharp. You can grind the tiles with a wetstone, and also groove out the
dental stone between them
with the corner edge of the wetstone. Don't worry it doesn't have to be too
deep. Grind away until
you get the curve in your tool, then go back if needed and regroove. Some
people us a "dremmel"
tool with a small round stone bit which works great for grooves.. Russ
