ATM Tile tool questions

Hi all,
I just made my tile tool using dental stone. I cleaned between the tiles as
best as I could while it was still soft,but unable to remove every much of
the dental stone between the tiles.
 How do I clean between the tiles now that the dental stone has hardened?
And, how deep should I go?
Do I clean up the sides just under the tiles as well?
How should I shape edges on the tiles on the ends?
Is there anything else that needs to be done prior to me getting down to
grinding?
