The thing with large binocs is to set the tube (not two tubes as one would
suspect) up as a unit and that will tend to keep the upper optical train in
proper alignment and the lower assy. will follow along with it. Basically,
the mechanical centers of the two optical trains will be the same distance
apart and thus collimating one tends to put the other at about the same
point of collimation when the images fuse.
