My closest observation was on Thursday, March 29, 2001. Here's a snapshot I
made www.johnspics.com/Venus1.jpg when Venus was less than 8 degrees from
the sun. This was made on a high-transparency day in the desert when the sky
was blue a degree from the sun. I used 1000mm focal length and 35mm film.
The sun was obstructed with a building. I'd like to see Andy's picture....
