ATM Pier Stance
Status
The cables are laid. The trench is filled. The bricks aren't back in place.
The routed cables are:
1 12 gauge 3 wire power cable (+, -, gnd)
1 parallel data cable
1 USB 2.0 cable
1 RG-59/U coax cable
1 nylon swine cord
Cause I know I'll never ever, not in a million years, need all this.
After gluing the "conduit" together, I slopped on half a tube of RTV.
After the RTV had cured, I slopped on the other half over it.
I'm hammering out, literally, a make shift equatorial head coupling from
the steel lamp shade of a track lighting fixture. I've got to get moving
on this.
I hit a little snag. The pier's too short. The shed roof is obscuring
some reasonably useable sky. The short term solution is a cinder block
and threaded rod. Long term I'm thinking I like the hollow fluted column
cast from concrete idea that Scott mentioned.
Monday the foundation will be 29 days cured. My artificial must be
operational by date is only a few weeks away now. It'll be close.

Do it and make excuses later.
