Because all it does is make "Pretty Postings"  There is no more information in
the message than in a plain text version. Plus the size for the same amount of
information is extremely bloated.  Many places pay by the byte.  Plus it takes
up a lot more room on the archives server that has no better info than the
plain text version.

Plus it is the policy of the list.. Plain text, so please use it.
