Okay. My turn -
The controlling mechanism is the fact that one disk can
swivel (tilt) and the other cannot. Gravity is a factor as is
the stroke. For grinding, the famous Dennis Rech (Mirror-o-Matic)
recommends spin grinding. He notes of a "sweet spot" (distance
between centers) where the ROC doesn't change for either
disk. Inside the sweet spot, the ROC goes one way, and
outside, it goes the other.
For the math types - I suspect the location of the "sweet spot"
can be calculated. Write me if you figure it out.
