Mark the location of the pits on the backside of the glass and do another
wet or two and see if the pits go away.  You will probably have as many as
20-30 pits that seem deep on a mirror of that size.  The thing here is that
the grit will always make some pits that are bigger than those around them
and they will go away after a wet or two.  This is the point at which you
start chasing pits around the surface and this will continue on until you
have no more glass to grind away if you let it!
