ATM (no subject)

i built an 8 inch f 7 DOB. it is my first one and not my last. i feel that 
the tube is too heavy. so is the mount. i used half inch plywood for the 
tube. i want to change it to quater inch. will it be too light? the mount is 
of 3 quarter ply and i want to lighten it also. i followed Berry's 
description in his chapter on a 6 inch DOB. thebase is made of 3 pieces of 
3/4 ply at21 inches round. it supports a tube that is 11x11 inches at60 
inches long.
