Most Arts&Crafts stores carry rolls of red cellophane/plastic sheet,
in various densities and hues of red, you also can get heavy black
poster board from the same source to make a frame for the filter,
I use stick on velcro to hold it on the laptop.
you probably can get the materials for less than $5
