Re: ATM 1/2" thick 24" diameter quartz. Is it possible?
If I had it I would use it as a corrector plate. I am finishing up grinding
a 20" 7/8 inch, and am planning on make a cassegrain (maybe even a schmidt).
It might be possible to make a f6 or f7 mirror, but only if you are a
glutton for punishment. Of course if you actually succeeded in make a good
mirror from it, everyone would worship you.

Quick question for anyone. I can get a 24" diameter 1/2" thick nice piece of
quartz. Is a mirror possible? To thin for mechanical reasons, or thermal.
