Oh, one thought on metal mirrors. The diamond turning unit at Lawrence Livermore labs does some metal mirrors (aluminum, I think) that come out usable straight from the lathe. Not that the lathe is ordinary, but they can go good work. IIRC, they did a secondary for the Keck out of aluminum. There services are available to the well-heeled customer.... Pete Brooks
