ATM 14.5 internet scope update possable conclusion...

bad news: about 160 hours into the project.
i finaly figured out the foucault-somwhat.
it took 1.250 travel of the knife edge.
i tried to figure it back with the pitch lap for 4 hrs.
it did not make much differance.
i thought,why not go back to tile and 2500.
fatal mistake...the mirror being deeper than the tool.
the tile tool edges made 36 grit looking scratches in the surface.
i measured the edge of the glass and
its down to .620        ..
just to take the scratches out will remove .020 or more of the surface.
i cant afford another piece of glass so i will continue to work this peice
as a learning experience.
i believe i used figuring strokes to polish,i wont do that again.
i am going to look for 18"x1 porthole glass, or at least 15x3/4
i have not begun to give up...
i like pushing glass, or pitch.
i am going to have a big scope!
