Looks like it would work ok.  Still... while the edge of the mirror 
surface crosses the cone both eyes will be lighted.  Using
a half-disk mirror would minimize crossing time compared to blocking/
reflecting time and eliminate ghosting.  Or a full disk with the
intercepting arc cut out halfway around.
