I've never actually added a premanent focuser extention. An empty Barlow
tube works well for this. For quick and dirty cardboard tubing and tape or
just pulling the eyepiece out as far as possible. My concen with designs
that use long draw tubes is the pontential for clipping the light cone at
the other end. To minimize obstruction I've often pushed it the other way.
Before commertial low profile focusers were avalible I would take a hacksaw
to what I could buy.

tube may clip the light cone, but to actually see whats going on you'll
have to run the number yourself.
