No.  Some people feel it helps to keep them mirror from hanging up. 
I've seen people kick and whamp on their mirror box to get the mirror to
drop into position after transport.  If you use the method Tom just
posted, it might even be counter productive.  This all depends on the
way you choose to support your mirror.
