ATM Re: Anamorphism?




In the rennaisance, artists would paint picutures which would seem like
meaningless blobs.   But if you would put a wine glass or other reflecting
object with the correct shape in the correct spot on the picture, and look
into that glass, a real picture would appear.  I believe that was an
anamorphism.

It is easy to create such pictures on a computer with modern ray trace
tecnology.  By "ray trace", I mean the techniques of the heavy metal graphic
artists that you find when you are looking for optical engineering software.
